For the past four years, my family and I have taken trips to major league ballparks. Three of the four teams we have watched in person has made it to the playoffs that year.
2011 was the first year where the Brewers went to the playoffs. We watched them play the Rockies during the regular season. We went back in 2012, but they didn't make the playoffs. In 2013, we switched up the ballparks and watched the Cardinals play the Padres. The Cardinals went on to the World Series. This year, we watched the Kansas City Royals take on the Indians. The Royals are also now in the World Series against the Giants.
It seems as if we might be good luck charms for the baseball teams. Any team out there that wants to make it to the playoffs or the World Series, should just send us tickets. I am sure we are the biggest impact on the game.

2014 World Series Prediction
The World Series teams have been decided after last night's game against the Cardinals and the Giants. The Giants won so they will be facing the Royals in the World Series. I think the Royals are going to win the whole thing in six games.
Alex Gordon, the Royal's left fielder, and Billy Butler, the Royal's DH/1st baseman, will need to have a good series to be successful. I think Tim Baumgartner and the rest of the pitchers for the Giants will struggle against the Royal's batters. Nori Aoki and Eric Hosmer will explode with the bats during the series.
I think the first game, the Royals will win 5-3. The second game will be won by the Giants 7-5. I think the Giants will take the lead with a game three victory with a score of 2-0. The Royals will win the next two games - the first game will be 9-7 and the second one will be 6-5.
The Royals are going to win the sixth and final game 5-3. The Royals will take the world championship for the American League. I am normally a National League fan, but am not a Giant's fan which is another reason I am rooting for the Royals.

Baseball is Starting
This Spring, my dad and I created a fantasy team in a league called Can of Corn. When we decided our picks, my dad and I took turns picking our players. When deciding who we wanted, we looked at who had the most home runs, RBI's, and stolen bases. Even with that strategy, we are not off to a good start. When the draft started, we were in 6th place and fell to last after one day. Currently, we are in tenth place out of twelve teams.
I have confidence that we will improve because we had some injured players, such as J.J. Hardy but he is back now. Our guys have started off slow but I think Casey McGehee will get us a lot of points with his RBI's. Robinson Cano was our first round draft pick and he is off to a slow start. I hope he starts playing better and get us some points.
Who would your first round draft pick be besides the obvious picks of Mike Trout and Miguel Cabrera?

The Short Game
The Short Game is a documentary about golf. It isn't about old guys playing golf, but it is about people my age playing golf in a big tournament in North Carolina. If you have Netflix, you can watch it. During the documentary, the camera men follow the most popular 7 and 8 year old golfers around and you get to know them on a personal level.
This documentary shows how hard it is to make it to the top levels of golf, but you can relate that hard work to other sports. You do not have to even like golf to enjoy this movie, as it is more about getting to know the golfers.
My favorite golfer was Sky Sudberry, the smallest golfer on the course. As I watched the movie, I was rooting for her the whole time. To find out if she takes the crown, watch The Short Game.

Baseball's Best
Spring training is going on right now. I think the best six teams going into regular season will be the San Francisco Giants, the Detroit Tigers, the L.A. Dodgers, the Milwaukee Brewers, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Boston Red Sox.
All of these teams are starting off well in Spring training. I think some of these teams are going to do well throughout the entire season and into the play-offs.
I think the best catcher this year will be Yadier Molina because he last year had a good season and is starting off well this year too. He has a strong arm, but I am hoping for an outstanding year with his bat too.
My top prospect for first base is Miguel Cabrera because last year he was an awesome hitter and did well at third base too. Being back at first base will help him on the field.
The best middle infielders are Derek Jeter and Robinson Cano because they are quick on the field and strong at bat.
On the other corner, Adrian Beltre, will be the top third baseman because he has amazing batting skills.
In the outfield, Mike Trout takes the lead because he just rocks! Andrew McCutchen and Carlos Beltran fill the rest of the outfield. This would be a fierce outfield because Trout makes amazing catches, McCutchen has a great bat, and Beltran is fast in the field.
The number one pitcher is Max Scherzer because he has a strong arm and good control.

Today I will be talking about March Madness. Here are eight teams to look out for: Duke, Iowa State, Florida, Wichita State, Texas, Villanova, San Diego State, and Iowa. I think these teams are loaded with talent.
Write your predictions back. Next time I will be talking about baseball.

NFL Playoffs
The 2013-2014 playoffs are coming along. At first, I wanted to the Bears to win the playoffs and go to the Superbowl, but the Packers beat them with a questionable call. Now, I either want the Seattle Seahawks or the Indianapolis Colts to win.
Last week, in the Wild Card race the Saints beat the Eagles. The 49ers beat the Packers to complete the NFC side of the bracket. The AFC winners of the wild card race were the Colts and the Chargers. The Colts beat the Chiefs and the Chargers beat the Bengals.
This week will be the second round of the playoffs, the divisional round. On the NFC side, Saints will take on the Seahawks. Go Seahawks! I think the Seahawks will win because they are 11-1. Russell Wilson, the Seahawks quarterback, is playing well. I think he will lead the Seahawks to victory with their good wide receivers too.
Also, the Panthers will take on the 49ers. I think the Panthers will win this game because they have been undefeated in the last twelve weeks. They started the season 0-4 but figured out a way to win and have kept that winning mindset since.
And now to the AFC...
The Colts beat the Chiefs last week in the wild card race and the Chargers beat the Bengals. This week, the Chargers will face the Broncos. This will be a tough game but I do think the Chargers will pull off a victory. This season, the Chiefs were undefeated until they faced the Chargers. The Chargers beat them both games so I think the Chargers can do the same thing to the Broncos.
The Patriots and Colts also play to finish off the AFC side of the bracket. I think the Colts will win because Tom Brady's is struggling this season compared to other seasons. The passing yards are down, he has had six fumbles compared to last year's one fumble, he has thrown more interceptions (11), and his rushing yards have been almost cut in half compared to last year's stats.
For the Colts, their quarterback, Andrew Luck, has shown much improvement this year. He has a higher passing completion percentage and has cut his interceptions and fumbles in half compared to last year. On the rushing side, Luck has ran 100 more yards than last year. Although Luck is a young quarterback, only in his second year, he has shown a lot of improvement and has the ability to lead his team to victory.
